Submit Your Story
I recently was listening to a podcast where Joe McNally was talking about his life as a young black and white street photographer for Time Inc., later Time Warner. He told about how amazing it was to go up to the 28th floor of the building where all the photography equipment was kept, and the real pros had their offices. He described the wonder of how amazing it was to hear their stories, their field notes and to receive tips from those great pioneers of our craft.
After finishing the podcast, I decided to start a blog to recreate part of that feeling of sitting around the coffee table and sharing stories. I would like to invite you as a photographer I respect to write a short piece around one of your favorite pictures (of your own,) describing how you took it, what was the impetus, any great stories around it. You can get very technical, or just describe the wonderful person you met while taking this shot. Either way, I would be honored to read and submit these to the blog, maybe the community we build may become something really special.
Thank you so much for your time, I hope you will consider participating. The blog post will plug any sites, galleries or projects you would like links to. I’ve put up a really short example at www.28thfloor.net to demonstrate perhaps what I mean. The images will be 500px wide, and you can watermark or do whatever you feel necessary. I really look forward to reading anything you feel like sending in.
Sincerely,
Evan Travers
